The Elk is one of the largest species of Deer in the world and one of the largest mammals in North America. Elk breed in the fall at which time a Bull Elk's antlers may reach 4 feet above its head, so that the animal towers 9 feet tall. The bugle call is one of the most distinctive calls in nature.
