The Puma, also called Cougars, Panthers or Mountain Lion, are second to Humans as the most widely distributed Land Mammal in the Western Hemisphere. Their Habitat Ranges from Sea Level in Canada to 19,000 feet elevation in the South American Andes.
I painted this Pastel Painting with 14,000 foot Mount Shasta in the background and an Icy Stream in front. Mount Shasta is one of the Peaks in the Cascade Range in the Western United States and is an Inavctive Volcano. Mount Lassen is just 40 miles South and is an Active Volcano. Both can be viewed from my Hometown of Redding, CA. Is there any wonder why I love to paint Wildlife Art
